It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Whitney can now relate to. They lost 60-39 to the Palmer Bulldogs on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1056th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 347th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Palmer to victory, but perhaps none more so than Eric Cisneros, who posted 27 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Cisneros' evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Baxter, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine boards.
Whitney has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-21 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.4 points over those games. Palmer pushed their record up to 23-7 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home.
Whitney does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Palmer, they have already played their next matchup, a 48-40 loss against Mexia on the 21st.
