Basketball Recap: York Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact York can now relate to. They took a blow against the Oceanside Mariners on Saturday, falling 66-39. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their defeat to the Mariners from their previous meeting back in February of 2022.

Renee Ripley continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Oceanside, dropping a double-double with 15 points and 12 boards. What's more, Ripley also posted a 80% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Grace Mackie, who went 6-for-12 en route to 16 points.

York's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Oceanside, their win bumped their record up to 14-5.

York does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Oceanside, they will face off against Medomak Valley at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Oceanside is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.7 points per game this season.
