Basketball Recap: Shadow Ridge Comes Up Short

Shadow Ridge entered their game against Valley Vista on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Shadow Ridge Stallions were dealt an 82-22 defeat at the hands of the Valley Vista Monsoon. If the Stallions were looking for revenge after losing 64-21 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Valley Vista's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kinsey Murray led the charge by as she made all 9 shots she took to post 21 points. The contest was Murray's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Tysyn Johnson was another key player, as she made all 7 shots she took for 17 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Shadow Ridge and nudges their season record down to 9-8. As for Valley Vista, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.

Shadow Ridge has already played their next game, a 66-25 victory against Tolleson on the 4th. As for Valley Vista, they will face off against Apollo at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
