Volleyball Recap: South Glens Falls Extends Winning Streak to Four

South Glens Falls had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They came out on top against the Hudson Falls Tigers by a score of 3-1. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tigers, too.

South Glens Falls was especially dominant in the fourth set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-18, 18-25, 25-12.

South Glens Falls' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mia Newell, who had seven aces and six digs. Those seven aces gave Newell a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Natalie Young, who had six digs and five aces.

They weren't the only good servers: South Glens Falls was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 24 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in four consecutive matches.

The win got South Glens Falls back to even at 7-7-3. As for Hudson Falls, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Looking ahead, South Glens Falls will welcome Lake George at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Hudson Falls, they are taking a road trip to challenge Queensbury at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
