Volleyball Game Preview: Berwick Bulldogs vs. Wyoming Valley West Spartans

The Berwick Bulldogs will head out to challenge the Wyoming Valley West Spartans at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Berwick will be strutting in after a victory while Wyoming Valley West will be coming in after a loss.

On Monday, Berwick made easy work of Lackawanna Trail and carried off a 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

While Berwick won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-16, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Wyoming Valley West came up short against Wilkes-Barre on Monday and fell 3-1. While the Spartans didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wolfpack 25-16 in the first set.

Wyoming Valley West started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 16-25, 25-20, 25-15, 25-19.

Berwick's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Wyoming Valley West, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Berwick took their win against Wyoming Valley West in their previous matchup back in April of 2022 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
