Basketball Recap: Fayette Academy Takes a Loss

Fayette Academy lost against Jackson Christian back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Fayette Academy Vikings took a hard 57-40 fall against the Jackson Christian Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 216th, while the Eagles are ranked 104th).

Loss or not, Fayette Academy got some senior leadership from Corbin Bowling and Zane Pike. Bowling posted 19 points and five rebounds, while Pike put up six points and three blocks. Pike is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last ten games he's played.

Jackson Christian was led to victory by Kelsey Rose Jr. and Birman Jenkins. Rose Jr. went 8-for-12 on his way to 17 points, while Jenkins almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 14 boards. Tucker Jones was another key player, putting up nine points.

Fayette Academy dropped their record down to 16-11 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Jackson Christian, their record now sits at 21-8.

Fayette Academy has already played their next game, a 56-48 loss against Lausanne Collegiate on the 16th. As for Jackson Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 63-32 victory against Northpoint Christian on the 15th.
