Softball Recap: Cape Fear Colts vs. South View Tigers
It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Cape Fear ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They walked away with a 9-6 victory over the South View Tigers. The Colts are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 11 straight.
McKinley Kolasa made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 7.1 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with four RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Allie Dawson was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with three runs and one RBI. Those five hits gave her a new career-high. Kloe Watts also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Cape Fear kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in 12 consecutive games.

Cape Fear pushed their record up to 19-3 with the win, which was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for South View, their loss dropped their record down to 13-5.
