It was a proper cat-fight when Newark Memorial faced off against Antioch on Thursday. 2025 welcomed the Newark Memorial Cougars with a 5-1 loss courtesy of the Antioch Panthers. The result was nothing new for the Cougars as the team haven't won a game since December 18, 2024.

Their goal came courtesy of Santiago Hernandez, which was the first he's scored this season.

Newark Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6-3. As for Antioch, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5-3.

Newark Memorial didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Mt. Diablo on the 4th. As for Antioch, they will challenge Deer Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
