Basketball Recap: Ooltewah Takes a Loss

Ooltewah was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 63-40 to the McMinn County Cherokees. While losing is never fun, the Owls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 358th, while the Cherokees are ranked 109th).

Ooltewah's loss dropped their record down to 4-17. As for McMinn County, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season.

Ooltewah has already played their next contest, an 80-45 defeat against Red Bank on the 6th. As for McMinn County, they will challenge Cleveland at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. McMinn County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Cleveland likes a good challenge.
