Basketball Recap: Waldorf Drops Highest Score of Season Against Apostles Lutheran

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Waldorf's strategy against Apostles Lutheran on Friday. The Waldorf Mavericks were the clear victor by a 64-41 margin over the Apostles Lutheran Falcons. The Mavericks' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Aiden Kwak and Jeremy Bork certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Kwak went 5 for 10 on his way to 10 points, while Bork dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. That was a full 41.5% of Apostles Lutheran's points, marking the ninth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Alec Fayard also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season.

The win made it two in a row for Waldorf and bumps their season record up to 2-3. As for Apostles Lutheran, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-8.

Waldorf is taking a road trip to face off against Silicon Valley International at 4:00 p.m. on January 27th. Silicon Valley International will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Waldorf surely won't give up without a fight. As for Apostles Lutheran, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Apostles Lutheran Falcons face off against the Granada Islamic School Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
