Soccer Recap: Rockbridge County Comes Up Short

Rockbridge County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Turner Ashby Knights. The match was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Rockbridge County couldn't quite close it out.

Rockbridge County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Turner Ashby, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rockbridge County will head out to take on Rocktown at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rocktown will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something Rockbridge County surely won't give up without a fight. As for Turner Ashby, they will venture away from home to square off against East Rockingham at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Turner Ashby will be up against East Rockingham's rather soft defense (which has allowed 4.27 goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
