Basketball Recap: Watertown Takes a Loss

Watertown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Holy Cross Crusaders, falling 91-55. The Warriors were not able to make up for their loss to the Crusaders from their previous meeting back in December of 2023.

Watertown's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Johnathan Platt, who posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Gian Hurdle, who scored 11 points.

Even though they lost, Watertown smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Watertown now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Holy Cross, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.

Watertown didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 48-43 loss against Wolcott on the 7th. As for Holy Cross, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 77-70 victory against Torrington on the 7th.
