Football Game Preview: Akins Eagles vs. Bowie Bulldogs

Akins is 0-10 against Bowie since October of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Eagles will host the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Akins lost 33-7 to Austin on Friday.

Meanwhile, Bowie played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Westlake, falling 30-7. The contest marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Akins' defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Bowie, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Akins took a serious blow against Bowie when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 48-0. Thankfully for the Eagles, Kayson Mathabela (who rushed for 104 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, and also picked up 37 receiving yards) won't be suiting up this time.
