Soccer Game Preview: Fountain-Fort Carson vs. Discovery Canyon

The Fountain-Fort Carson Trojans will square off against the Discovery Canyon Thunder at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Fountain-Fort Carson's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for seven straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Fountain-Fort Carson took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Falcon 1-0. The win was some much needed relief for Fountain-Fort Carson as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Discovery Canyon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They came up short against Lutheran, falling 10-0. While losing is never fun, Discovery Canyon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado soccer rankings (they are ranked 149th, while Lutheran are ranked 25th).

Fountain-Fort Carson's victory bumped their record up to 4-8-1. As for Discovery Canyon, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.

Fountain-Fort Carson might still be hurting after the 4-0 loss they got from Discovery Canyon in their previous matchup back in April of 2022. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
