Recap: Valentine vs. Broken Bow Indians

If Valentine were riding high off their 47-8 takedown of the Cody-Kilgore Cowboys/Cowgirls last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Valentine took a 45-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Broken Bow. Valentine has not had much luck with Broken Bow recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

Despite the defeat, Valentine had strong showings from Paige Sprenger, who scored ten points along with two steals, and Kinsey Buechle, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.

Valentine's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 6-8. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.4 points per game. As for Broken Bow, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season.

As for Broken Bow, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Holdrege at 6:00 p.m. Holdrege will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 75th, while Broken Bow is ranked 16th).
