Soccer Game Preview: Williams vs. Orange

The Williams Bulldogs will head out to face off against the Orange Panthers at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Orange took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Williams, who comes in off a win.

Williams was handed a three-goal defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene last Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Southern Alamance 3-2. The victory was some much needed relief for Williams as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Emerson Tirgrath and Lilly LaPlante scored all three of Williams' goals, bringing their combined season tally to 11 goals.

Meanwhile, after soaring to eight goals the game before, Orange was a bit more limited in their game on Wednesday. They lost 4-1 to Seaforth.

Orange has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. As for Williams, their win bumped their record up to 5-7-1.

Williams came out on top in a nail-biter against Orange in their previous meeting back in March, sneaking past 5-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
