Basketball Recap: South Border co-op [Wishek/Ashley] Takes a Loss

South Border co-op [Wishek/Ashley] was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Ellendale Cardinals, falling 56-16. The Mustangs lost against the Cardinals in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 63-51 score last time.

South Border co-op [Wishek/Ashley]'s defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Ellendale, the victory snapped their losing streak at six games dating back to last season and leaves them with a 1-4 record.

South Border co-op [Wishek/Ashley] will host Herreid/Selby at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Ellendale, they will square off against Washburn at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Washburn knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Ellendale likes a good challenge.
