Softball Recap: Sandwich Takes a Loss

Sandwich lost against Ottawa back in May of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Indians came up short against the Pirates, falling 15-3. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kayden Corneils was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Sandwich's loss dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Ottawa, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 17-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sandwich will welcome Newark at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Norsemen have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season. As for Ottawa, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sterling at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Pirates are on a three-game streak of home wins, the Golden Warriors a four-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
