Basketball Game Preview: Townsend Harris Hawks vs. Newtown Pioneers

The Townsend Harris Hawks will venture away from home to challenge the Newtown Pioneers at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Townsend Harris will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

Last Wednesday, Townsend Harris took their matchup with ease, bagging a 60-32 win over Campus Magnet. The Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Newtown earned a 44-37 victory over Jamaica on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pioneers.

Townsend Harris pushed their record up to 9-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for Newtown, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Townsend Harris took their victory against Newtown in their previous matchup back in January of 2017 by a conclusive 58-32. Will Townsend Harris repeat their success, or does Newtown have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
