Thayer hadn't done well against Ava recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Bobcats were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Bears. This was a revenge game for the Bobcats: when they faced off against the Bears back in March, they had to take a 5-0 loss.

The victory made it two in a row for Thayer and bumps their season record up to 10-4. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Ava, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 10-3.

Looking ahead, Thayer is taking a road trip to square off against Van Buren at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bobcats will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matches. As for Ava, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Houston at 4:30 p.m.
