Softball Recap: Eastern Randolph Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Eastern Randolph's offense. They came up short against the Southwestern Randolph Cougars on Friday, falling 16-0. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Eastern Randolph saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooklyn Jones, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.

Eastern Randolph's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Southwestern Randolph, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Eastern Randolph is set to challenge their familiar foe Uwharrie Charter Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Southwestern Randolph will square off against rival Jordan-Matthews at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cougars 2, the Jets 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
