Flag Football Game Preview: Miramonte Matadors vs. Mt. Diablo Red Devils

The Miramonte Matadors will venture away from home to take on the Mt. Diablo Red Devils at 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Miramonte is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 40 points on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Alhambra on Monday. They lost 38-12 to the Bulldogs. The loss continues a trend for the Matadors in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 50-6, which was the final score in Mt. Diablo's tilt against Clayton Valley Charter on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 567th, while the Ugly Eagles are ranked 89th).

Miramonte's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Mt. Diablo, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.

Miramonte took their victory against Mt. Diablo in their previous matchup back in September of 2024 by a conclusive 20-0 score. Do the Matadors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Red Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
