Basketball Recap: David Emanuel Academy Takes a Loss

David Emanuel Academy lost against Fullington Academy back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The David Emanuel Academy Eagles had to suffer through a 71-39 loss at the hands of the Fullington Academy Trojans. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

David Emanuel Academy's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Revan Fortner, who posted nine points along with six rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance gave Fortner a new career-high in boards. Another player making a difference was Ethan Fields, who earned nine points.

Will Sangster continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Fullington Academy, going 11 for 17 on his way to 28 points and eight rebounds. The game was Sangster's seventh in a row with at least 17 points. Cutter Tharpe was another key player, going 7 of 15 en route to 18 points and five steals.

David Emanuel Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Fullington Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-13.

David Emanuel Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 56-48 loss against John Hancock Academy on the 7th. As for Fullington Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 48-31 win against Crisp Academy on the 7th.
