Baseball Game Preview: Knoxville Panthers vs. Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont Rockets

The Knoxville Panthers will venture away from home to face off against the Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont Rockets on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Knoxville managed to slip by Cardinal the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Panthers came up short against the Comets on Friday, falling 13-2. Panthers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Comets since on Friday.

Meanwhile, Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont scored the most runs they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of Albia by a score of 7-6. The Rockets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Knoxville has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Knoxville was able to grind out a solid win over Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont in their previous meeting back in June of 2024, winning 6-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
