Basketball Recap: Chapin Starts Season with Win Against Wando

Chapin gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They walked away with a 65-55 victory over the Wando Warriors. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 74-65 win the Warriors walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2024.

Despite the loss, Wando saw an underclassman step up: freshman Sully Templeton shot 69% from the field en route to 21 points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jahmari Malone, who posted 12 points and eight boards.

Wando dropped their record down to 1-1 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Chapin will be playing at home against Camden at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Wando, they and White Knoll will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest, having both just played.
