Basketball Recap: Calvary Christian Comes Up Short

If Calvary Christian was feeling good fresh off their 49-23 takedown of Heartland Christian last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Calvary Christian EAGLES fell just short of the Community Christian Eagles by a score of 60-58 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the EAGLES have suffered since November 11, 2023.

Community Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Luke Fagan out in front who posted 11 points and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Fagan a new career-high in blocks (two). Brody Back was another key player, putting up 14 points and five rebounds.

Calvary Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-6 record this season. As for Community Christian, they pushed their record up to 11-5 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calvary Christian will head out to take on Varsity Opponent at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Community Christian, they are taking a road trip to challenge Legacy Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
