Whitewater was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 28-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sandy Creek Patriots. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 138th, while the Patriots are ranked 44th).

Case Roberts and David Duru certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Roberts rushed for 24 yards and two touchdowns, while Duru rushed for 36 yards and a touchdown. Duru was even better on defense, forcing a fumble and making ten total tackles.

Whitewater wouldn't let Sandy Creek keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Whitewater can thank Duru and Christian Masaniai for forcing both of them. Masaniai also set a new season high mark in total tackles with 13. Brayden Foster was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making nine total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Sandy Creek found their leader in sophomore Caleb Hill, who threw for 236 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 39 yards. Chase Mcdowell was another key rusher, gaining 150 total yards and two touchdowns.

Whitewater's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Sandy Creek, the victory for them keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

Whitewater wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 30-10 win against Fayette County on the 25th. Sandy Creek has also already played their next matchup, a 37-29 loss against Mary Persons on the 25th.
