Soccer Recap: South Florence Starts Season with Defeat at Home

South Florence unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-pitch advantage in their season opener. They lost 9-1 to the West Florence Knights on Monday. The Bruins were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 5-1.

Their goal came courtesy of Olivia Lewis.

The victory (which was West Florence's third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

South Florence wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Sumter on the 7th. As for West Florence, they have also already played their next game, a 10-0 victory against Westwood on the 4th.
