Soccer Recap: Meadowdale Comes Up Short

Meadowdale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Edmonds-Woodway Warriors. While losing is never fun, Meadowdale can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 206th, while Edmonds-Woodway are ranked 26th).

Meadowdale's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Edmonds-Woodway, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Meadowdale will square off against rival Shorewood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Edmonds-Woodway is set to challenge their familiar foe Shorecrest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
