Recap: Lighthouse Christian Lions vs. Hagerman Pirates
The Lighthouse Christian Lions had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They enjoyed a cozy 66-52 victory over Hagerman. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Lighthouse Christian also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2022.
Hagerman's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Martin Gonzalez, who scored 20 points. Gonzalez scored a full 38.5% of Hagerman's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Mavencamp, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Lighthouse Christian's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Hagerman, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lighthouse Christian will take on Shoshone at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Hagerman, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Sun Valley Community at 7:30 p.m.
