Recap: Thomasville Tigers vs. Hillcrest Jaguars
The Thomasville Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 91-54 defeat at the hands of Hillcrest. Thomasville was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-23.
Hillcrest was led to victory by Jermonte Stallworth and Robert Simpson. Stallworth scored 22 points, while Simpson scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and six blocks. Simpson is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last eight games he's played. Jordan Bonner was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Thomasville has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season. As for Hillcrest, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 22-4.
Thomasville's road trip will continue as they head out to face Excel at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Excel will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive. Hillcrest will take on Monroe County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Monroe County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 222nd, while Hillcrest is ranked 63rd).
