Evergreen won the last time they faced Skyview and things went their way on Friday too. The Cougars breezed past the Wolverines to the tune of 56-13. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Cougars just coasted through the last quarter.

Tom Van Den Bos had a dynamite game, throwing for 405 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 15.0 yards per attempt. Those 405 passing yards gave him a new career-high. Ethan Blaney did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 89 receiving yards.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Evergreen's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Grady White, Aiden Hardgrove, and Darden Tucker, who each picked up one sack apiece.

The win (which was Evergreen's third in a row) raised their record to 5-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 10.0 points on average over those games. As for Skyview, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Evergreen will take on Green Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Gianni Volpe and Drew Contreras. As for Skyview, they will square off against Wheat Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wolverines will be up against the Farmers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 46.14 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
