Volleyball Recap: King's Academy Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins at Home

If King's Academy was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Atlantic Christian last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lions fell 3-1 to the Suncoast Chargers on Thursday. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chargers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Suncoast scored at least 20 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-20, 24-26, 25-20.

Isaiah McCoy paced King's Academy's offense, picking up 32 kills. McCoy got some help from Jake Manning and his 43 assists. Graysen Amestoy controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

King's Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-5. As for Suncoast, the victory (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 16-1.

King's Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against True North Classical Academy on the 22nd. As for Suncoast, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Dwyer on the 22nd.
