Baseball Recap: Mooresville Christian Triumphs

The Mooresville Christian Eagles got the win against the Eminence Eels on Friday by a conclusive 18-7. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Eagles' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Jacob Schlichting and Kael Mason made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Schlichting pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Mason pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. At bat, Schlichting got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four runs, two triples, and two RBI, while Mason went 2-for-3 with three runs.

In other batting news, Maddex Taylor was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two triples, two stolen bases, and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Levi Maddox, who earned three runs and five stolen bases.

Mooresville Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .649. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eminence only posted an OBP of .393.

Mooresville Christian's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Eminence, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Mooresville Christian will head out to face off against Sheridan at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Eminence, they will challenge Cloverdale at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
