Basketball Game Preview: Vinita Hornets vs. Verdigris Cardinals

Vinita hasn't had much luck against Verdigris recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Vinita Hornets will take on the Verdigris Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. Vinita will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Last Friday, everything went Vinita's way against Miami as Vinita made off with a 44-22 win. Given the Hornets' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 138th, while the Wardogs are ranked 295th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Verdigris beat Skiatook 46-38 on Friday.

Vinita's record now sits at 14-7. As for Verdigris, their record now sits at 6-11.

Everything came up roses for Vinita against Verdigris in their previous matchup back in January, as the team secured a 73-27 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Vinita since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
