Recap: Tuscumbia Lions vs. New Bloomfield Wildcats
The Tuscumbia Lions came into Thursday's game having lost 11 straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They snuck past New Bloomfield with a 64-60 victory on Thursday. The victory was just what Tuscumbia needed coming off of a 76-38 defeat in their prior matchup.
When it comes to explaining why New Bloomfield lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jacob Fuhriman. Despite the final result, he scored 27 points along with three steals. Fuhriman hasn't dropped below 17 points for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of J.t. Powell, who scored nine points.
Tuscumbia's victory ended a 16-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-14. As for New Bloomfield, they dropped their record down to 8-15 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home.
Tuscumbia will take on Prairie Home at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Prairie Homepresents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Tuscumbia in Missouri (Prairie Home is ranked 228th, while Tuscumbia is ranked 517th). As for New Bloomfield, they will head out on the road to face off against Harrisburg at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
