Football Game Preview: Newport Cubs vs. Scio Loggers + How To Watch

The Newport Cubs will take on the Scio Loggers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

On Friday, Newport had to suffer through a 49-7 loss at the hands of Santiam Christian. The defeat continues a trend for the Cubs in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, Scio fell victim to Dayton and their airtight defense on Thursday. They took a blow against the Pirates, falling 41-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Loggers were not able to get on the board.

Scio's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Newport, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Newport beat Scio 21-12 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Will the Cubs repeat their success, or do the Loggers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
