Softball Recap: Bloomfield Triumphs

After only two runs in their last matchup, Bloomfield made sure to put some runs up on the board against Payne Tech on Thursday. The Bengals came out on top against the Lions by a score of 12-8. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Bengals' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Teagan Weber was excellent, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Natalia Mosquera also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.

The win got Bloomfield back to even at 12-12. As for Payne Tech, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Bloomfield will square off against Caldwell at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Chiefs will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Bengals surely won't give up without a fight. As for Payne Tech, they will face off against Belleville at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
