Baseball Game Preview: Orange Panthers vs. Western Alamance Warriors

Orange is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will be playing at home against the Western Alamance Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Orange's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Western Alamance's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Friday, Orange was able to grind out a solid win over Jordan, taking the game 6-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Oliver Van Tiem was a major factor no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Orange let Kayden Bradsher and Henry Hoffman run wild. Bradsher scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3, while Hoffman scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Bradsher is becoming a predictor of Orange's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-3 when he doesn't).

Meanwhile, Western Alamance didn't have quite enough to beat Person on Thursday and fell 9-8. The defeat continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Rockets: they've now lost six in a row.

Western Alamance's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Orange, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.

Everything went Orange's way against Western Alamance in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, as Orange made off with a 10-1 win. Does Orange have another victory up their sleeve, or will Western Alamance turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
