Volleyball Game Preview: Merced Bears vs. Los Banos Tigers

The Merced Bears will challenge the Los Banos Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Merced is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering El Capitan just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 3-1 to the Gauchos.

Merced started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 24-26, 25-16, 25-18, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Los Banos was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They came up short against Atwater, falling 3-0.

While Los Banos was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-22, 25-16.

Los Banos' defeat dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Merced, their loss dropped their record down to 17-12.

Merced took their win against Los Banos in their previous meeting on April 1st by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Bears repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
