Basketball Game Preview: Liberty Leopards vs. Crestview Rebels

Liberty and Crestview are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The Liberty Leopards will face off against the Crestview Rebels at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Liberty will come in still looking for their first win of the season.

Last Monday, Liberty was beaten by Maplewood 55-19. While losing is never fun, the Leopards can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 768th, while the Rockets are ranked 77th).

Meanwhile, Crestview took their game on Monday with ease, bagging a 57-29 victory over Struthers. The Rebels have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 28 points or more this season.

Crestview's win was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-3. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 42.3 points. As for Liberty, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.

Liberty took a serious blow against Crestview when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 67-26. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Crestview's Addison Rhodes, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 boards.
