Preview: Erie Tigers vs. Rocky Mountain Lobos

After two games on the road, Erie is heading back home. They will take on the Rocky Mountain Lobos at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.

Erie scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 72-58 victory over Northglenn.

Erie relied on the efforts of Marco Martinez, who scored 17 points, and Christopher Smith, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Smith has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Haan, who scored five points along with five rebounds and two steals.

Meanwhile, Rocky Mountain unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Broomfield by a score of 74-71. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Saturday (55), Rocky Mountain still had to take the loss.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Maddox Base, who scored 13 points along with four steals. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ross Frank, who scored eight points along with two steals.

Erie now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Rocky Mountain, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.

Erie suffered a grim 65-40 defeat to Rocky Mountain in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Will Erie have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
