Basketball Recap: Wake Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Wake Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were dealt a 67-29 defeat at the hands of the GRACE Christian Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 499th, while the Eagles are ranked 153rd).

It was another big night for Michael Phillips II, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds for GRACE Christian. Phillips II's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Malachi Tate was another key player, putting up 11 points and five boards.

Wake Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-19. As for GRACE Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-17.

Wake Christian Academy will be taking part in a tournament against St. David's at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. David's is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.3 points per game this season. GRACE Christian has already played their next match (against Cary Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
