Preview: Commerce Tigers vs. Prairiland Patriots
Commerce has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Prairiland Patriots at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Prairiland took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Commerce, who comes in off a win.
Even though Commerce has not done well against Edgewood recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Commerce strolled past Edgewood with points to spare, taking the game 62-46.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 94-19, which was the final score in Prairiland's tilt against Rains on Tuesday. Prairiland was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-11.
Commerce's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for Prairiland, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-7 record this season.
Commerce took their victory against Prairiland in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a conclusive 62-41. Will Commerce repeat their success, or does Prairiland have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
