Softball Preview: West Forsyth Titans vs. Rockingham County Cougars
West Forsyth has won 16 straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Rockingham County has won 16 straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Monday. The Titans will welcome the Cougars at 6:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
West Forsyth's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Mount Tabor.
Meanwhile, Rockingham County put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's fourth consecutive shutout on Friday. They blew past Eastern Guilford 10-0.
Not much got past Ava Grace Pruitt, who gave up just a hit and racked up 14 Ks to keep Eastern Guilford off the board. Pruitt has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Kennidy Kirby was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing five bases. Those five stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Presley Rothe, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and one RBI.
West Forsyth's win bumped their record up to 17-0. As for Rockingham County, their victory bumped their record up to 13-1.
