Seventy-First came tearing into Saturday's contest with 11 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.2 points), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 51-50 W against the Lumberton Pirates. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 75-66 win last Tuesday.

Several Pirates players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaiden Shephard, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 12 boards. Shephard is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last 50 games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Christopher Hammonds, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 12 boards.

Seventy-First's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-3. As for Lumberton, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 22-5.
