Basketball Recap: Minneota Comes Up Short

Minneota came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 75-54 to the B O L D Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 299th, while the Warriors are ranked 129th).

Jack Gross continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for B O L D, dropping a double-double with 28 points and ten assists. The contest was Gross' third in a row with at least 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Penkert, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and ten rebounds.

Minneota has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. As for B O L D, their record now sits at 13-8.

Coming up, Minneota won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Lakeview at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Minneota is facing Lakeview at the right time seeing as Lakeview is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for B O L D, they are taking a road trip to face off against Mayer Lutheran at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
