Volleyball Recap: Lydia Hammond Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Culver Community

Triton's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They blew past the Culver Community Cavaliers 3-0. This was payback for the Trojans, who suffered a 3-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Triton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Lydia Hammond out in front who had 23 digs. Those 23 digs gave Hammond a new career-high. Clara Doll was another key player, getting seven digs and one block.

Triton's record is now 8-3. As for Culver Community, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-5.

Looking ahead, Triton will take on Peru at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Culver Community, they will challenge North Miami at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Cavaliers surely won't give up without a fight.
