Basketball Recap: Zuri Mcclure's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lausanne Collegiate over St. George's

Lausanne Collegiate lost against St. George back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Lausanne Collegiate Lynx took a 68-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. George's Gryphons.

Lausanne Collegiate lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Zuri Mcclure, who went 6 for 14 on his way to 19 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Patrick Thompson, who posted 14 points.

St. George's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carson Crump led the charge by dropping a double-double with 25 points and ten rebounds. Those ten boards gave Crump a new career-high. Amir Wilson was another key player, going 6 of 9 to rack up 16 points.

Lausanne Collegiate has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 11-15 record this season. As for St. George's, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

Looking ahead, Lausanne Collegiate will take on Fayette Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lausanne Collegiate is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.3 points per game this season. St. George's does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
