Volleyball Recap: Pleasant Takes Down Johnstown-Monroe in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Pleasant had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Johnstown-Monroe Johnnies on Saturday. That's more bragging rights for the Spartans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Pleasant was especially dominant in the fourth set. The final score came out to 25-20, 26-24, 24-26, 25-13.

Kamryn Cocherl paced Pleasant's offense, picking up 32 kills. Cocherl got some help from Cassie Ice and her 28 assists. Macy Hamper controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Pleasant's win was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 24-1. As for Johnstown-Monroe, the loss snapped their winning streak at three matches and leaves them with a 17-8 record.

Coming up, Pleasant will square off against Willard at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Johnstown-Monroe does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
